Velorose is delighted to present ANOTHER LIFE by Ben Katzler, featuring 31 photographs taken between Sept 2024 and May 2026

ANOTHER LIFE documents a deeply personal journey through illness, recovery and renewal; the exhibition brings together a body of work created throughout that journey, a visual timeline exploring vulnerability, resilience, perspective and hope. Ben was diagnosed with myeloma, a form of blood cancer in February 2025, and photography - previously both a professional and creative outlet - became a way of understanding, documenting and rebuilding life during and after treatment, and in to remission

Everything here began with the realisation that I did not want to die

From diagnosis, through months of treatment and recovery, that discovery became the impulse to keep going out into the world to make photographs

It made sense to keep shooting on 35mm film. Film has, quite literally, a life of its own, and it’s the only other life over which I can have any kind of control or responsibility

This is life seen through a lens, smudged with the knowledge that it might be taken away - and with a renewed wish to enjoy everything, to love, to be here

Exhibition in partnership with Myeloma UK, the sole charity dedicated to providing support, influencing access to treatments and researching a cure; a significant proportion (greater than 25%) of the proceeds from the exhibition will be donated to the charity
